Hunter had been watching videos of various Whale shows on Youtube for months, so he was very excited and had a pretty good idea of what he could expect to see.
He went in search of some front row seats for him and Craig, and the rest of us got in the first row OUTSIDE of the Soak Zone. I was hot but didn't feel like wearing any whale water.
He finally settled on his spot, in the second row right behind the platform. It was cute watching him trying out various spots before he found the right one. Craig went and sat with him. I'd bought him a disposable waterproof camera, so he could get up close and take lots of pictures.
These pictures are all mine.
Taken with my nice zoom lens,
From the safety of my seat,
Waaaay out of the soak zone!
The show started and we met the whales
and the trainers
she waved to the crowd
I think it's so amazing to watch the relationship the trainers have with the whales, you can feel the love
After she showed us some tricks, it was time to relax
The dorsal fins are really big
This is why I didn't sit down in the Soak Zone
For such big creatures, they are incredibly graceful
and really get some height out of that water
Here's one of whales spitting water out into the crowd
Another trainer came out for a ride
And with that the show was over. Hunter was beyond excited. He LOVED it! He and Craig didn't get too wet in their seats either. While the story and music are kind of cheesy, it is really cool to watch the whales and trainers together.
Hunter had some money burning a hole in his pocket and wanted to hit the gift shops, and Mackenzie wanted to try a ride back over at the Bay of Play. So off we went.
