It was Tuesday October 7th.
Or day 19.
And we were off to San Diego.
But first we had business, of the breakfast kind, to take care of.
We went back to New York, New York, to America where we had eaten the other night. They had a breakfast special of all-you-can-eat pancakes for $6.99. Mum and Dad met us there, and we all got pancakes, Craig got a side of bacon with his. They were really good, and not one of us, nope not even Craig, wanted to get a second plateful, we were stuffed!
Once breakfast was done, Mum and Dad raced off to the airport. They were joining us in San Diego for a few days, but they were flying down. We packed up our bags, loaded the car and it was bye-bye Vegas.
The drive to San Diego was much the same as the drive to Vegas had been. Desert, cactus, more desert.
I took a picture of the scenery reflecting in Craig's sunnies
I thought this was too funny, Zzyzx Rd, how do you pronounce that??
We stopped again in Barstow for a quick lunch, and made it to San Diego around 4pm.
We checked into our hotel, The Comfort Inn and Suites in Hotel Circle. It was nice. All newly renovated, and I had booked a kids suite, so we had a King bed and the kids had bunk beds in their own room. Not to mention their own flat screen television. They were in heaven.
We got ourselves unpacked and freshened up and we were off to dinner. Craig had spied a Benihana as we were driving in, so that was our destination. It was wonderful , the kids loved watching the chef and they ate a lot.
Afterwards we decided to drive over to my parents hotel so the kids could say goodnight to them. This is where our friendly reliable GPS got into trouble. She got all confused and took us the wrong way, then we got stuck in Neil Diamond concert traffic again!
That guy seemed to be following us!
Finally we made it there, Kingston had fallen asleep in the car, so we didn't stay long, but we made plans to pick them up in the morning on the way to Sea World. Yes the day Hunter had been patiently waiting for was almost here.
So we got back to the hotel and into bed, to rest up for our big day.
Here's the kids sleeping soundly in their own room.
Hunter got the top bunk and Kenzie was on the bottom.
Kingy and his blankie.
