Part 5 - Back at the Hotel

On the way back to the hotel Hunter had me take this picture.  He's a funny kid!

Kingston was asleep in his stroller where he remained for about 3 hours.  It was pretty hot and the kids were dying for a swim, so after a quick stop at concierge for drinks and snacks we went to the pool.  Our room was on the 3rd floor which is the pool level, so we could walk out onto our patio, open the little gate and walk right up to the pool gate, it was awesome.  They have a toddler pool, a regular pool and a hot tub.  Plus a water slide.

Craig managed to coax Hunter into having one go on the slide, then we couldn't get him off it.  He loved it.

Mackenzie watched the boys and she wanted to try it, but every time she got to the top she would freak out and have to come back down.  As you can see here!

She did enjoy swimming though, they had some little flotation vests hanging by the pool for the kids to use.

After about an hour we went back to the room and relaxed, it was only around 230.  I think I may even have read a couple of chapters of my book.

By 330 we decided to head to Disney's California Adventure (DCA) for a while, so we stopped in and got some more snacks and drinks and walked back towards the parks.  DCA is a fairly new park, it opened in 2001,  and as the name suggests it carries a California theme.  It was all nicely decorated in Halloween decor too.  Disney really goes all out.  Once we were inside and had passed under the Golden Gate bridge, we could see Candy Corn Acres.  Candy corns are an american candy, although usually they are a lot smaller than the ones in DCA. (haha)
The Candy corns even grow on the cacti in Candy Corn Acres.
And they have Candy Corn Pumpkins in the garden.
The kids had fun looking at all the various Candy corns.
They even grow up in the tallest trees.  Really though, the theming is incredi
ble, there is so much attention to detail, and it's just a lot of fun.
We made our way around into the Hollywood Backlot, by this time Kingston was awake and he was a little cranky, luckily I had some tasty goldfish snacks for him, and he was happy again. We went into Turtle talk with Crush.  It was very cute, the kids sat on the floor and Crush came out and talked to everyone, he asked and answered questions and made jokes.  It was lots of fun, both Hunter and Mackenzie were dying to talk to him, but they didn't get picked this time.  They really enjoyed the show though.

After Crush we still had some time left before the parade so we went to check the line for Monster's Inc.  We were in luck, it had a 5 minute wait.
We all really enjoyed this ride, and Kenzie was brave considering it was an inside ride.  It was getting close to 5 so we decided to go and find a spot for the Pixar Parade which starts at 5.15.  We easily found a spot and settled down to wait.
