Disneyland - Day 2

Can you believe it we're at day 2?  Tuesday September 29th for those keeping score.  Once again we were up early, so we headed down to the breakfast, again it was an awesome spread and we grabbed some water bottles to bring with us to the parks.  I had a game plan for today as well, in my handy dandy notebook.

After breakfast we headed out, we had early entry passes for today, that means even though the park opens at 10am, we could get in early at 9am, well you know us and 5000 of our closest friends.  Actually it's only early entry to Fantasyland and parts of Tomorrowland, which was fine with us, we'd saved them for our early day anyway.

We were amongst the first in line at the security gates, and since they weren't open yet we used the time to slip, slop, slap.  Or for those of you not in the know, we put on sunblock!  By about 830 we were through security, and wouldn't you know it, we were first in line at the gates as well!  So it's almost 9am, and already it was stinking hot, literally, you know that fun, sweaty, why isn't the guy next to me wearing deodorant? hot.

The clock struck 9 and in we went.  All the way down Main Street, through the castle and into Fantasyland.  Now according to my list, we had to do Peter Pan first, so we ditched the stroller and jumped in the almost non-existent line.  Now remember Mackenzie had decided she was no-way-no-how going on another ride.  Ahh well we didn't!! So as we get to the front about to get into one of the flying cars, she starts crying.  We told her she'd really like it, she LOVES the Peter Pan movie and the ride wouldn't be scary at all. So I jumped in the car with the boys and left her and Craig to jump in the next one.  The ride was cute, and I didn't hear her screaming behind us, so I guess she didn't mind it.  When she came out she said it was okay, but she didn't want to ride it again.

No problem!

Next stop on the list was Dumbo, and she was more than happy to ride it.  I guess it's the indoor "dark" rides that she can't see what's going to happen that are scary.  The outside ones are fine.  So I jumped in a flying dumbo with Hunter and Kenzie and Craig jumped in one with Kingy.  What could go wrong now?  We went up, and around maybe 3 times when the elephants came down again, but the ride wasn't over, the cast member just needed to talk to someone.  Yes it was Craig and Kingy stopped the ride.  Kingston gets a little freaked out by rides that go up and down, remember the tigers??  So he turned around and clung onto Craig for dear life. Only on this ride everybody must be facing forward for safety reasons.  So Craig turned him back around and managed to get through the rest of the ride.
This wasn't quite going to plan.  So I decided to forget about the plan for now, there was no way we'd get Kenzie into any of the dark rides.  The she spied the teacups, so we decided to ride those - again no line.  This time Craig sat out with Kingy and I took the 2 kids on, he even took pictures.  Now when we got on the ride, Hunter was all sulky about something, so basically I spent the whole ride telling him to pull his head in, this is Disneyland after all, and there's no sulking at Disneyland.  By the time we joined craig and Kingston again he was back to his usual sweet self.
By this stage we were kind of done with Fantasyland, so we thought we'd head over and see how the line for Nemo was.  Oh boy, it was packed.  So we decided to go and try out Buzz Lightyear.
As we were walking over that way I heard someone calling my name, it was my friend Lisa who was also visiting Disneyland at the same time with her family.  So Craig and Hunter left us to do the Buzz ride while we stopped and chatted with Lisa and her girls.

Here's Kingston and Chasity hanging out, he shared his chex with her too.  What a gentleman!
We made plans to meet up with Lisa again on Wednesday and then headed off to wait for the boys at the Buzz exit.  The ride, like many others at Disney, empties out into a gift shop.  So Kenzie looked around while we waited on the boys.  We had been there for a while, and hadn't seen them yet, I was getting worried we had missed them, when finally they came out.  Turns out they had mistakenly gone on the Star tours ride first, which Hunter had loved, and then they did Buzz, which Hunter also loved.  Since there wasn't much wait, I took Hunter through Buzz again while Craig waited with Kingston and Kenzie.
It really was lots of fun.  By this time the early entry hour was over, and it was almost 11am, so we decided to go over to DCA again and explore that park a little before our lunch reservation.
